Description

The Danza is a 115cm LED suspension light built around a continuous ribbon of matt black aluminium that flows through three overlapping loops, each with an opal silicone diffuser along its inner edge. An integrated 75W LED runs the length of the ribbon at 3000K, casting warm white light through the diffuser and creating a sculptural glow that defines the fixture's form rather than illuminating objects below it.

Designed as a centrepiece for dining rooms, open-plan living spaces and double-height entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Danza works as ambient and decorative lighting rather than task lighting. The suspension height adjusts between 60cm and 150cm on installation, allowing the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or higher in larger volumes. The oval ceiling plate measures approximately 30cm x 15cm and fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The matt black finish on the aluminium absorbs reflections and gives the fitting a graphic silhouette against light-coloured ceilings, while the opal diffuser softens the LED into an even glow without visible hotspots. At 2.56kg the fitting is lighter than metal chandeliers of comparable size, reducing the load on ceiling fixings. The 3,064 lumens output is comparable to a traditional 200W incandescent bulb, providing enough ambient light for a 20-25m² room when used as the primary ceiling fitting.

Schuller manufactures the Danza in Spain using aluminium extrusion and silicone moulding, with the LED modules factory-sealed inside the ribbon structure. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry interior spaces — it is not suitable for bathrooms, covered outdoor areas or unheated conservatories.

The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge or TRIAC dimmer. Not all dimmers work with integrated LED fittings — check the dimmer manufacturer's compatibility list or contact us before pairing with an existing dimmer circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The suspension cables adjust between 60cm and 150cm. For a dining table the fitting typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 115cm width suits tables of 180-240cm length or open-plan spaces where the fitting acts as a zoning element.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The LED modules are factory-sealed inside the aluminium ribbon and cannot be accessed for replacement. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours at full output, which equates to around 11 years at 6 hours per day.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and is only suitable for dry interior spaces. Do not install in bathrooms, outdoor covered areas or unheated conservatories.
