Description
A pair of small square frames, each 5cm by 5cm and 1cm deep, built as a brass channel soldered round two panes of glass. The frame opens on a hinge down one edge and shuts on a small hook, so a photograph, a pressed flower or anything else flat goes between the panes. Both faces are glass, so whatever is inside shows from either side. A folding wire stand is hinged to the back of each one.
At 5cm square these stand on a surface rather than hang on a wall, and it is a stand rather than a hook that each one comes with. A pair together on a shelf, a mantelpiece or a bedside table holds two small things side by side, and on a windowsill the light comes through from behind because the back is glass as well as the front.
The frames are glass and brass. The brass is soldered round the glass with traditional tools, which leaves weld marks along the joins and at the corners, and the finish is left rustic rather than worked smooth, so the tone shifts from pale gold to darker brown across each frame and no two are marked alike. They come as a set of two.

Frequently Asked
How big are they?
5cm by 5cm and 1cm deep. Two come in a set.
Can they be hung on a wall?
No. Each one has a folding wire stand hinged to the back and is made to stand on a surface.
How does a picture go in?
The frame opens on a hinge down one edge and shuts again on a small hook, and what goes in sits between the two panes of glass.
Is the back glass as well?
Yes, both faces are glass, so whatever is inside can be seen from either side.
Why are there marks on the joins?
The brass is soldered round the glass by hand, and the weld marks are left showing rather than taken off.
How do I look after them?
Wipe them regularly with a soft dry cloth so that dust and dirt do not build up, and use a microfibre cloth in a circular motion on the glass.
