Description

The Danona P is a tall floor lamp with a fabric drum shade set on a slim stem. It stands 163cm tall, with a shade 40cm across and a round base 30cm across. You can choose the shade in Cotton, White Translucent Ribbon or Cream Translucent Ribbon, and the finish in Satin Nickel or Satin Nickel - Dark Leather. The frame is iron, and the Satin Nickel - Dark Leather finish wraps the stem in dark leather between satin nickel at the top and the foot. The White Translucent Ribbon shade is finely pleated, so the light glows softly through it.

We think it belongs in a living room, beside a sofa or a reading chair, or in a corner that needs a gentle pool of light in the evening. At 163cm it lifts the shade above seated eye level, and the 30cm base needs very little floor space, so it sits neatly in a tight spot. Both translucent ribbon shades let the light through softly. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

Underneath, the frame is iron with a satin nickel finish, set on a round base. It runs on mains power at 230V, with a 200cm cable, and it is a Class II fitting. It takes two E27 bulbs, 6W max each, which are not included and are sold separately; they are what give the lamp its light, so choose bulbs you like for colour and brightness and keep each one to 6W or less. With the bulbs fitted, it gives the soft, shaded light that makes a living room feel settled in the evening. Our photographs show the white version.
