The Dali Telescopic is a 710mm linear island pendant with four polished brass arms flowing in an overlapping wave pattern, each terminating in a frosted and clear glass globe shade housing a G9 bulb. The telescopic drop mechanism adjusts between 480mm and 710mm on installation, allowing the fitting to be used as a low-profile semi-flush ceiling light in rooms with limited headroom or as a full-drop pendant over kitchen islands and dining tables in taller spaces.

Designed for positioning above kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars between 1.2-1.8m wide, the four-bulb spread provides even task and ambient light across the surface below. The adjustable drop means the same fitting works in period properties with 2.4m ceilings and modern extensions with 3m+ ceiling heights. The polished brass frame is mounted to a rectangular canopy that fits standard UK ceiling roses, with the suspension cables concealed within the brass tubes.

Each glass shade combines a frosted lower section with clear upper glass, diffusing direct glare downward while allowing upward light to bounce off the ceiling and add ambient fill to the room. The polished brass finish shows a warm golden tone that pairs well with oak, walnut and other warm-toned wood worktops and cabinetry. The wave pattern of the brass arms creates visual movement along the length of the fitting without obstructing sightlines across an island or table. At 1.4kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard ceilings with proper fixings.

Is the Dali dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch rated for the total wattage. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming electronics, so dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose.

What size island or table does it suit?

The 710mm length works best over kitchen islands or dining tables between 1.2m and 1.8m wide. For longer islands over 2m, consider pairing two Dali fittings spaced 800-1000mm apart to maintain even coverage.

How is the drop adjusted?

The telescopic mechanism is set during installation by sliding the inner tube to the desired height and locking it in place. The drop can be set anywhere between the 480mm minimum (semi-flush for low ceilings) and 710mm maximum (full drop for taller rooms).

What bulbs are recommended?

G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W per bulb in 2700K-3000K warm white are typical for residential use. The fitting accepts up to 40W per bulb (160W total), but modern LED equivalents rarely exceed 5W. Bulbs are sold separately.
