D-Line Cable Tidy Unit Large - White

The D-Line large cable tidy unit is a 415mm white ABS housing designed to conceal extension leads, power strips and cable clusters behind TVs, under desks and around AV equipment. Three cable entry and exit slots at either end allow multiple cables to run into and out of the box while the body itself hides the tangle of plugs, adapters and excess cable length inside.

Designed for home offices, living room AV zones and shared workspaces where multiple devices draw from the same extension lead, the unit prevents trailing cables from collecting dust and being stepped on or tripped over. The 165mm internal width accommodates wider power blocks and multi-outlet strips without forcing cables into tight bends, and the 135mm height gives clearance for bulkier plug-top transformers to sit upright inside the box.

The white ABS plastic outer is non-porous and wipes clean with a damp cloth, making it suitable for floor-level installation where dust accumulates. At 710g the unit sits stable on carpet, laminate and tile without needing to be fixed in place, though the base is flat enough to allow adhesive pads or cable ties to be used if permanent fixing is preferred. The lid sits flush with the body and can be lifted off for access to the contents when rearranging cables or adding new connections.

How many plugs can it hold?

The internal capacity depends on the size of the extension lead and plugs. Most users fit a 4-6 outlet extension strip with standard UK plug-top transformers inside without forcing the lid. Bulkier power bricks for laptops and monitors may reduce the number of outlets that fit comfortably.

Does the lid stay on securely?

The lid sits flush with the body but is not clipped or locked. It lifts off for access to the contents, which makes it easy to add or remove cables but means it can be knocked off if the unit is moved or bumped.

Can it be wall-mounted?

The unit is designed for floor or surface placement rather than wall mounting. The base is flat and can be fixed to a surface with adhesive pads or cable ties if needed, but there are no dedicated mounting points for vertical installation.

Is ventilation adequate for heat dissipation?

The three cable slots at either end allow some airflow, but the unit is not ventilated along its length. Avoid overloading the extension lead inside with high-draw appliances that generate heat, and check that plug-top transformers inside are rated for enclosed use.
