Curve LED Dimmable Spiral Pendant Light - Black

The Curve is a 60cm-wide spiral pendant light built from matt black aluminium with an integrated 31W LED running through the entire helical frame. The LED sits behind a continuous silicone diffuser that wraps around the spiral, turning the entire structure into the light source rather than hiding bulbs behind a shade. The colour temperature is adjustable between 3000K warm white and 4000K neutral white via a wall switch or compatible dimmer.

Designed for double-height spaces, open-plan living areas, and commercial interiors with ceiling heights above 3m, the Curve sits on three suspension cables that allow the drop to be adjusted between 457mm and 3257mm during installation. The spiral geometry creates visual movement when viewed from different angles in the room, making the fitting work as both functional lighting and a kinetic focal point. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces only.

The matt black finish on the aluminium absorbs rather than reflects surrounding light, giving the fitting a sharp graphic profile against white or light-coloured ceilings. The silicone diffuser softens the LED output to reduce glare and provides even illumination along the full length of the spiral, rather than creating hotspots at individual lamp positions. The 31W power draw delivers approximately 2,700 lumens at full output, depending on the selected colour temperature, providing ambient light across 15-25m² when suspended at typical dining or living room heights of 2.2-2.8m above floor level.

The adjustable colour temperature function requires a compatible trailing-edge dimmer or a wall switch sequence (multiple on-off cycles) to toggle between 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K settings. How is the colour temperature adjusted?

The Curve uses either a compatible trailing-edge dimmer with colour temperature control, or a wall switch sequence where multiple on-off cycles toggle between 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K. The selected colour temperature is stored until manually changed. Once set, the fitting remains dimmable through standard dimmer controls.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop is 457mm from ceiling rose to the bottom of the spiral, which suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when installed over a dining table or kitchen island. The maximum 3257mm drop is designed for double-height spaces, atriums, and commercial interiors with ceilings above 4m.

Can the integrated LED be replaced?

No. The LED is integrated into the aluminium structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED driver and emitter are covered by Maytoni's 3-year guarantee and are rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10 years at typical residential usage levels.

What dimmer is compatible?

The Curve requires a trailing-edge (electronic) dimmer rated for LED loads. Leading-edge dimmers designed for halogen or incandescent bulbs may cause flickering or fail to dim smoothly. Check the dimmer packaging for LED compatibility before installation.
