Description

The Corriford pendant sends three arms out from a central stem, each one holding a tapered metal shade, and finishes the whole thing in bright nickel. It measures 550mm across with an overall height that adjusts between 455mm and 660mm, a short drop that suits standard ceilings where a long suspension would be in the way. Three E14 lamps rated up to 6W each in LED point the light downwards through the open shades, so you get three defined pools rather than one flat wash. At 1.7kg it is easy to handle during fitting, and it dims with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer switch.

Multi arm fittings suit rooms that need light in more than one place at once. Over a round dining table the three arms cover the setting evenly; in a kitchen the downward throw puts light on a worktop rather than the ceiling. The short drop makes it a sensible ceiling light for a hallway or a bedroom too, where headroom matters. Bright nickel is a cool, reflective finish that sits naturally with chrome taps, stainless appliances and glass, and it keeps the fitting looking crisp against white or pale grey. Dimming lets the same pendant light handle both cooking and eating.

Stem, arms and shades are metal, finished in bright nickel, which shows fingerprints more readily than a matt finish and cleans up just as easily. Use a dry soft cloth for dust and a barely damp one for marks, drying straight away; avoid metal polish, abrasive pads and solvent cleaners. It is a Class 1 fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and a qualified electrician. The Corriford range also runs to a five light version for wider tables, and both sizes come in satin brass if you would rather have a warmer metal.
