Description
The Cooper is a white outdoor LED wall light with an integrated PIR motion sensor and an adjustable head that tilts to direct the beam. The fitting houses a 20W LED producing 1700 lumens at 3000K warm white across a 120° beam angle. The PIR sensor triggers the light automatically when movement is detected, then switches off after a preset delay, reducing energy use compared to continuously-lit outdoor fittings.
Designed for driveways, side paths, rear entrances and garage walls where motion-activated security lighting is preferred over permanent illumination, the Cooper mounts to a standard outdoor back box via a rear plate. The adjustable head allows the beam to be angled down onto a path surface, across a driveway, or upward to wash a wall, depending on what needs to be lit when the sensor triggers. The IP54 rating protects the internal LED and electronics against dust ingress and rain splash from any direction.
The white powder-coated aluminium body gives a clean finish that pairs with rendered facades, white uPVC cladding and painted masonry. At 167mm wide and projecting 212mm from the wall when mounted, the fitting sits noticeably forward from the mounting surface, which helps the PIR sensor detect movement across a wider arc in front of the light. The non-dimmable LED is fixed at 3000K, providing a warmer tone than typical 4000K commercial security lights.

Frequently Asked
Can the PIR sensor sensitivity and delay be adjusted?
Most PIR-equipped outdoor lights in this style offer adjustable delay (typically 10 seconds to 5 minutes) and sensitivity controls, usually accessed via small dials or switches on the fitting body. Check the installation instructions for specific adjustment points on the Cooper.
What detection range does the PIR sensor cover?
PIR sensors on wall-mounted lights typically detect movement within a 5-10m range in front of the fitting, across an arc of approximately 90-120°. The 212mm projection from the wall helps the sensor detect movement across a wider angle than flush-mounted fittings.
Is the Cooper suitable for coastal or exposed locations?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and rain splash, making the fitting suitable for most UK residential outdoor applications. For coastal locations with salt spray or highly exposed positions subject to driving rain, an IP65-rated fitting would provide better long-term protection.
Can the head be angled after installation?
Yes. The adjustable head can be repositioned after installation to redirect the beam without removing the fitting from the wall. This is useful for fine-tuning coverage once the PIR detection pattern is understood.
