Description

The Clio Ceiling Canopy is a round black ceiling canopy built to hang up to eight pendants from one point on the ceiling. It measures 21cm across and 4cm tall, a slim, low disc that sits close to the ceiling and leaves the attention on the lights hanging from it. It gives no light of its own: the pendants hung from it take their mains supply through it, so this canopy is the part that brings power down to every drop. It has eight outlets, and each pendant is sold separately.

To light it you need up to eight M091__.000.0200 M094__.000.0200 M097__.000.0200 pendants, each sold separately; they hang from the canopy's outlets and give all of the light. Eight drops from a single ceiling point make a generous cluster over a dining table, a cascade down a stairwell or double-height hallway, or a grouped centrepiece in a living room or open-plan living and dining space. Because the canopy carries no IP rating, it is for dry rooms indoors only. It belongs to the Clio range.

The finish is black, a quiet colour that disappears against a dark ceiling and gives a crisp, graphic point against a pale one. It runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician; with no bulb or light source inside the canopy itself, there is nothing in it to replace, and the light you get depends entirely on the pendants you choose. Before the electrician visits, we suggest deciding how many pendants you want, up to eight, and where the canopy should sit on the ceiling, so the whole fitting goes up in one visit.
