Description
The Cirze is a 140x60cm rectangle wall mirror built from multiple circular mirror elements arranged in an overlapping cluster pattern over a gold leaf backing. The circles vary in diameter from approximately 8cm to 22cm, creating depth through layered reflective surfaces against the textured gold background. The entire assembly is backed with black-lacquered MDF, giving structural rigidity and a defined 3cm depth when viewed from the side.
Designed for vertical or horizontal mounting, the Cirze works in hallways needing a tall format mirror, above bedroom dressers, or as a feature piece in living rooms where the clustered circles can reflect multiple light sources across the room. At 16kg the mirror requires secure wall fixings into solid masonry or timber studs, with D-rings or mirror plates typically used for installation. The gold leaf finish behind the circles catches ambient and direct light, creating warm reflected tones across the mirrored surfaces.
The circular elements are positioned to leave gaps exposing the gold leaf underneath, so the mirror reads as part reflective surface, part decorative panel. This makes it function differently from a conventional flat mirror — it fragments reflections into multiple circular zones rather than providing a single continuous reflection. The gold leaf has a textured, slightly mottled appearance under close inspection, typical of traditional leaf application over a prepared base. The black MDF backing visible from the side creates a sharp edge definition when the mirror is mounted with even a small gap from the wall.

Frequently Asked
Can the Cirze be hung horizontally?
Yes. The 140x60cm format works either vertically or horizontally depending on the wall space and intended visual effect. The fixing points on the reverse allow both orientations.
What wall fixings are needed?
At 16kg the mirror requires secure fixings into solid masonry or timber studs. Mirror plates or D-rings with appropriate wall plugs rated for at least 20kg are recommended. Plasterboard-only fixings are not suitable.
Does it provide a full reflection like a standard mirror?
No. The circular mirror elements are arranged in a cluster with gaps exposing the gold leaf backing, so reflections are fragmented across multiple circular zones rather than continuous. This makes it more decorative than functional for tasks like dressing.
How is the gold leaf finished?
The gold leaf is applied over a prepared base with a slightly textured, mottled appearance typical of traditional leaf gilding. It is sealed to prevent tarnishing but will show natural variation in tone and texture across the surface.
