This storage jar is shaped like a little circus tent: a round stoneware body painted with bold red stripes, under a peaked lid that rises to a round knob. It stands 25cm tall and 15.5cm across, a size that sits comfortably on a kitchen worktop or an open shelf. The stripes run from the tip of the lid down to the base, and the lid lifts off by its knob. Stoneware is fired at a high temperature, which makes it dense and hard-wearing, and this jar weighs 0.672KG.

In the kitchen it keeps biscuits, sweets or dry goods such as pasta, rice or coffee beans close at hand, and the striped tent shape brings a bit of fun to a worktop of plainer storage.
