Description

A wreath of pressed metal leaves, 42cm across and only 1.5cm deep, worked around a wire ring. Each leaf is stamped with its veins and pierced between them, so the metal reads as filigree rather than as a solid cut-out. The leaves all lean the same way around the circle. It weighs 0.13kg.

Forty-two centimetres is front-door scale, and at 130 grams a single hook or a length of ribbon carries it. Hung on a chimney breast, the pierced leaves stand off the wall and cast their own shadow onto it. It will lay flat down the middle of a table instead.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish. Every leaf is pressed and fixed by hand, so the overlap and the angles differ from one wreath to the next. A matching Charita garland runs 120cm along a table or a mantel in the same leaf.
