Description

The Chariot is a 65cm ceramic table lamp built around a flat circular base with soft curved edges, covered in hundreds of hand-applied ceramic dimples. Each dimple is individually painted in antique cream and brown tones, creating a textured surface that shifts under light. The lamp comes complete with an ivory oval drum shade made from unbleached natural linen.

Designed for sideboards, console tables, window ledges and other narrow surfaces, the Chariot's flat profile measures just 26cm front-to-back while spanning 50cm wide. This proportion works well on surfaces where a traditional round-base lamp would overhang the edge. The lamp suits hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where table depth is limited but height is needed to balance the room. The 120cm cable includes an inline rocker switch, removing the need to reach behind furniture to operate the lamp.

The ceramic base is hand-painted after the dimples are applied, so the brown-to-cream gradient differs between individual lamps depending on where the painter started and how thickly the pigment was applied. This variation is a feature of the hand-finishing process rather than a quality issue. The natural linen shade softens the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately), directing ambient glow upward and downward without glare. At 4.2kg the lamp sits stably on most surfaces without needing to be fixed in place.
