Description

A set of four short tumblers hand blown from recycled glass in a strong olive green, each 8cm tall and 8cm across and holding 225ml. The walls are not straight: the surface is hammered into shallow ripples that run down the glass and catch the light in bands, and one side is pinched inward to make a hold. The base is thick and the rim is left plain and slightly uneven.

At 225ml these are short tumblers, for water at a table or a short drink rather than a long one. The green deepens against wood and reads closer to olive than it does against white. The pinch falls under the fingers as the glass is picked up.

The glass is recycled and every tumbler is blown by hand with traditional tools. The surface is hammered first and then pinched, so the ripples fall in a different pattern on each one and the pinch sits at a slightly different height. Small bubbles and a variation in the depth of the green come from the same process. The Chandani tumbler is also made tall, and both heights come in clear as well as green.

Frequently Asked

How many come in a set?

Four.

Is recycled glass dishwasher safe?

These are, yes.

How much does each one hold?

225ml.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use so they do not stain. Use a mild detergent and do not leave them to soak. Handle them with care.

Will the four match?

Not exactly. Each is blown, hammered and pinched by hand, so the ripples and the position of the pinch differ from glass to glass.

Is there a taller one?

Yes. The Chandani tumbler is also made tall, in green and in clear.
