Description

The medium Chaipat is 42cm tall on a foot 9.5cm across, eight centimetres taller than the small and a centimetre wider at the base. The stem repeats the same steps and the single flattened bead at the midpoint, drawn out longer between them. The cup at the top is unchanged.

Forty-two centimetres is the middle of three heights, and the three are made to stand together: 34, 42 and 50cm in a row, each holding a taper, where the staggered flames are what a set does that one candlestick cannot. On its own it clears a centrepiece rather than competing with it.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish, cast rather than turned from bar, which is why the surface stays rough and the patination falls differently on each one. A 34cm and a 50cm Chaipat run alongside it. The candle is not included.
