Description

The Cellar is an 8-light linear pendant fitting with eight opal glass spheres mounted on a matt black metal frame measuring 1160mm long by 400mm wide. Each sphere houses a G4 5W LED (included) that casts warm 3000K light through the opal glass, creating a soft glow without glare. The black frame is suspended from a rectangular canopy on two adjustable cables, allowing the drop to be set between 300mm and 1600mm depending on ceiling height.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and open-plan living areas, the Cellar works best above surfaces 900-1200mm wide where the 1160mm length provides even light distribution without overwhelming the space. The spheres are evenly spaced along the frame, with four on each side offset in a staggered pattern that creates visual depth from different viewing angles. The adjustable drop suits both standard 2.4m ceilings and taller spaces up to 4m, with typical installation positioning the spheres 700-800mm above a dining table or worktop.

The opal glass shades are mouth-blown, so each sphere shows minor tonal variation and small bubbles in the glass when backlit, characteristic of handmade opal rather than a defect. The matt black finish on the metal frame absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, keeping visual focus on the illuminated spheres. The G4 LEDs are replaceable, extending the life of the fitting beyond the typical LED lifespan. At 4.6kg, the Cellar requires secure fixing into a structural ceiling point or joist.

Is the Cellar dimmable?

No. The included G4 5W LEDs are non-dimmable and the driver circuitry does not support dimming. Attempting to use this fitting with a dimmer may damage the LEDs or create flicker.

Can the LEDs be replaced?

Yes. The G4 LEDs are replaceable. If a bulb fails after the warranty period, replacement G4 5W 3000K LEDs are available from Niori and other lighting suppliers.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drop is adjustable from 300mm to 1600mm. For a dining table or kitchen island, the spheres typically sit 700-800mm above the surface, which requires a minimum ceiling height of around 2.3m. Higher ceilings up to 4m can accommodate the full 1600mm drop.

How is the fitting secured to the ceiling?

The 4.6kg weight requires fixing into a structural ceiling point, joist or dedicated lighting point. The rectangular canopy contains the electrical connection and cable adjustment points. If the ceiling rose is not over a joist, a spreading plate or cavity fixing rated for at least 6kg should be used.
