Description

The Cela is a pair of housewife pillowcases in a blend of hemp and organic cotton, each 50 by 70cm. A housewife case is plain: no border and no flange, so the case finishes at its own seam. The fabric is a flat weave in cream with slubs running through it, and it reads matt rather than shiny. The pair arrives in a cream fabric bag of the same weave, folded over at the top and fastened with a single round wooden button.

The weave creases softly where it folds, so the pair reads loose rather than pressed. The cream is the plain element of a made bed rather than the pattern, and the range carries a fitted sheet in the same weave. The bag is sized to take the pair folded, and it serves as a garment bag instead.

The fabric is hemp woven with organic cotton. Hemp is a durable fibre that grows on little water and without chemicals, and the organic cotton it is paired with is grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs. The weaving is done in Portugal. Two cases come in the set, and no pillows are included.

Frequently Asked

What size are the pillowcases?

50 by 70cm each. Two come in the set.

What is the fabric?

Hemp blended with organic cotton, woven in Portugal.

What kind of pillowcase is it?

A housewife case: plain, with no border and no flange.

How should they be washed?

Follow the care label on the product. The temperature given on the label is the highest the bed linen will take, and washing cooler saves energy. Line drying gives the best result, or tumble dry low and take them out promptly. The fabric softens with each wash, and a gentle fabric softener can be used occasionally.

Is a pillow included?

No. The set is two pillowcases and the fabric bag they come in.
