Cavo Braided Twisted Copper Cable 2 Core 0.75mm - Grey

Grey braided flex, twisted into a neat two core lead and VDE approved. The outer sleeve is woven, so it carries a slight texture and a soft matt look rather than the shine of plain PVC, and the twist keeps the pair travelling together as it drops. Conductors are 0.75mm, the usual size for pendants, table lamps and floor lamps on a domestic supply. We cut it to order, so however much you take arrives as a single continuous piece rather than a handful of shorter offcuts.

The braid is tightly woven over the twisted cores and holds its shape without going floppy in the hand. How is the cable supplied if I order several metres?

The quantity you order is supplied as one continuous length, cut from the reel, so ordering five gives you a single 5m piece rather than five separate metres.

How thick is it overall?

The finished cable measures 5.3mm in diameter, including the braided sleeve, so it passes through most standard cordgrips and ceiling rose entries.

What size lamps and fittings does it suit?

With 0.75mm conductors it is the standard choice for domestic pendants, table lamps and floor lamps. Check the total load of the fitting against the cable rating if you are wiring several lamps from one drop.

Can I cut and strip it myself?

Yes. The braid frays a little once cut, so tape the sleeve before you cut and trim the tails cleanly. A short wrap of heatshrink over the sleeve end keeps the weave tidy.

How should I clean it?

A dry cloth wiped along the length is enough. Water, cleaning sprays and solvents will stain the woven sleeve permanently.
