Description

This is a pair of cat-shaped candle holders in stoneware, each striped in multicoloured bands from its pointed ears to the tip of a looped tail that forms a handle. The two are not identical: one cat stands on four short legs, while the other sits on a ribbed, stacked body, and each has an eye and a small nose picked out at the front. One holder is 16cm long, 10.5cm wide and 8cm tall; the other is 12cm long, 8cm wide and 9.5cm tall, so the pair sits happily side by side with neither crowding the other.

Because they come as a pair, they work best grouped: on a sideboard, along a mantelpiece or on a short stack of books on a side table, where the difference in height gives the arrangement a little rhythm. The stripes bring colour and a touch of humour to a living room, a hallway console or a bedroom shelf, and they suit anyone who likes a home with character.
