Description

Caramella is a pair of round stoneware plates that bring a sweet-shop playfulness to the Christmas table. One plate carries broad diagonal stripes with a dotted wrapped sweet at its centre; the other is covered in large spots, with a striped wrapped sweet in the middle, and each rim is edged in a band of contrasting colour. They are multicoloured and cheerful, designed to sit together rather than to match exactly. Each plate is 16cm across and 3cm tall, which makes them side plates: big enough for a slice of cake or a couple of mince pies, small enough to tuck beside a dinner plate.

These plates belong wherever something small and sweet is being handed round over the festive weeks. Set them out for Christmas Eve pudding, use them for biscuits with afternoon tea, or put out fruit cake and cheese when friends call round.
