Description

The Caminante is a 150cm freestanding LED sculpture cast in matte black fiberglass and polyester resin, depicting a striding human figure encircled by an integrated metal LED ring. The ring contains a 3.3W LED strip delivering 370 lumens at 3000K, creating a warm halo that outlines the figure and illuminates the surrounding floor and wall surfaces.

Designed as both sculptural art and functional light, the Caminante suits entrance halls, living room corners, landing areas and gallery-style spaces where height and verticality are assets. The 93cm ring diameter means the piece needs clearance on all sides, making it best suited to rooms with at least 3m of floor width. The matt black finish absorbs reflected light during the day, giving the sculpture a solid silhouette, then transforms under its own LED glow at dusk.

The figure itself is modelled in a forward stride, one arm extended to hold the ring, legs in mid-step. The form is simplified rather than anatomically detailed, with broad geometric planes defining the torso, limbs and head. At 8.5kg the sculpture is lighter than bronze or stone equivalents, making it straightforward to position without floor reinforcement. The base measures 23cm deep, allowing the piece to sit stable on carpet or hard flooring without rocking.

The integrated LED runs on 220V mains via a standard UK plug, with the cable exiting the rear of the base. The ring cannot be removed from the figure — it is part of the moulded structure. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warmer, more amber light than daylight-toned LEDs, which softens the contrast between the black figure and the lit halo. Is the LED ring dimmable?

The specification does not indicate dimmer compatibility. The sculpture runs on 220V mains and the 3.3W LED is integrated into the ring structure. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What clearance does it need around it?

The ring extends 93cm wide, so the sculpture needs at least 1m of clearance on each side to avoid the ring intersecting with walls or furniture. The 23cm base depth means it can sit against a wall if the ring is angled forward.

Can the ring be removed or replaced?

No. The ring is part of the moulded fiberglass structure and houses the integrated LED. It cannot be detached from the figure or replaced separately.

How is it cleaned?

Wipe the matte black surface with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household sprays or polish, which can leave residue on the matte finish or damage the LED ring.
