Description

We stock the Calipso in black as a focused LED track spotlight for single-circuit rails. It has an integrated 30W LED module built into a die-cast aluminium head, giving 2740 lumens of warm white 3000K light in a tight 36 degree beam, so you get a clean pool of light rather than a broad wash. The CRI 90 rating means colours read accurately under it, which matters when you are lighting anything you want people to look at closely.

We reach for this one when the job is picking out detail: artwork on a feature wall, stock in a shop or gallery, or architectural details in a hospitality or home setting. It mounts onto a standard single-circuit track adaptor and the head rotates and repositions along the rail, so once it is up you can angle the beam exactly where you want it and move it later as a display changes. The matt black body sits neatly against black track, and works just as well on white rail if that suits the room.

The Calipso runs on mains 220-240V 50Hz AC and is not dimmable, so it stays at full output. It carries an IP20 rating, which makes it right for indoor dry locations rather than bathrooms or outdoors. At 30W it draws far less than an old halogen spotlight of similar brightness, and the aluminium housing helps shed heat over long hours of use. Energy class is G.

Frequently Asked

Is it dimmable?

No. The Calipso runs at full output and is not dimmable, so it is best where you want steady, consistent accent lighting rather than a variable level.

How does it fit onto track?

It clips onto a standard single-circuit track adaptor. The head rotates and slides along the rail, so you can point the beam where you need it and reposition it later without tools.

Where can I use it?

It is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations, which suits retail, galleries, hospitality and homes. We would not use it in a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The 30W LED is built in and gives 2740 lumens of warm white 3000K light, so there is no separate lamp to fit. You will need compatible single-circuit track, sold separately.
