Description

A pillar candle holder in ceramic, 10.5cm tall and 13cm across, shaped as a wide ridged cup on a flared foot with a narrow waist between them. The glaze is reactive, so it pools and breaks differently over every ridge: two tones, olive and natural, with the darker one gathering where the glaze runs thin.

Thirteen centimetres of base under 10.5cm of height means a pillar candle sits low and does not want to tip. The cup is flat and wide, cut for a fat pillar rather than a taper. It stands on a mantel beside the taller size, the two lit at different heights.

The body is ceramic and it is made in Portugal. A reactive glaze is unpredictable by nature, so the balance of the two tones and the speckling differ on every piece. A taller Cabra stands 15.5cm. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

10.5cm tall and 13cm across.

What candle does it take?

A pillar candle. The cup is flat and wide.

Is there a larger size?

Yes, 15.5cm tall.

Will every one look the same?

Close, but not identical. A reactive glaze breaks differently on every piece.

How do I look after it?

Wash it in warm water with a mild dish soap after every use so that wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off it. Stand the candle securely and keep the flame away from the sides. It gets hot in use, so let it cool fully before handling it, keep it out of reach of children, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
