Description
The Knightsbridge BT Evo is a 300mm polycarbonate LED bulkhead with an integrated photocell sensor that automatically switches the fitting on at dusk and off at dawn. The bulkhead offers selectable wattage output at 9W, 14W or 18W and three colour temperatures — 3000K, 4000K or 5700K — adjustable via DIP switches inside the fitting before installation. At 18W on 4000K the bulkhead outputs 1750 lumens through an opal diffuser with a 120-degree beam angle.
Designed for external perimeter lighting, access paths, carparks, building entrances and under-canopy areas where vandal resistance and automated control are needed, the bulkhead carries IP65 weatherproofing and IK10 impact resistance. The photocell sensor is factory-set for exterior use only and includes a slave live terminal that allows the bulkhead to control adjacent non-sensor luminaires, enabling multiple fittings to switch together without duplicating photocells across the installation.
The 300mm diameter polycarbonate base is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing in sunlight, finished in white, and fitted with a clip-on bezel that can be swapped for alternative finishes from Knightsbridge's BT Evo range to match existing schemes. The 65mm projection from the wall or ceiling allows rear BESA mounting or surface fixing via four fixing points on the base. The integrated SMD LED module is rated to 50,000 hours at L70B50 and carries a 5-year guarantee including the driver.
At 9W the bulkhead outputs 930 lumens at 4000K, at 14W it outputs 1400 lumens, and at 18W it outputs 1750 lumens. The efficacy at the light source ranges from 134-136 lumens per watt depending on selected wattage. The non-dimmable constant current driver operates on 230V 50Hz mains and the fitting is Class II double-insulated, requiring no earth connection.

Frequently Asked
How is the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?
Both settings are controlled by DIP switches accessible inside the fitting. The wattage can be set to 9W, 14W or 18W, and the colour temperature to 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white) or 5700K (cool white). These settings must be configured before installation and cannot be changed once the fitting is sealed and mounted.
Can the photocell be disabled for indoor use?
No. The photocell is factory-set and designed specifically for exterior use where automated dusk-to-dawn control is needed. If you need a bulkhead for indoor use without a photocell, Knightsbridge offers non-sensor versions in the BT Evo range.
What is the slave live terminal used for?
The slave live terminal allows this bulkhead to control adjacent non-sensor luminaires. When the photocell activates this fitting at dusk, it sends a switched live signal to any connected fittings, allowing them to switch on and off in sync without needing their own photocells.
What does IK10 impact resistance mean?
IK10 is the highest rating on the International Electrotechnical Commission's impact scale. The fitting can withstand a 5kg mass dropped from 40cm, which equates to 20 joules of impact energy. This makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, vandal-prone locations and installations subject to accidental knocks.
