Description
The Knightsbridge BT EVO is a 300mm emergency LED bulkhead with an integrated photocell sensor that activates the fitting automatically at dusk and switches it off at dawn. The fitting can be set to three wattage levels (9W, 14W or 18W) and three colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) via switches inside the gear tray, allowing output to be tailored to the specific application without changing the luminaire.
Designed for exterior building perimeters, car parks, loading bays and access routes where vandal resistance and emergency backup are needed, the bulkhead carries an IK10 impact rating and an IP65 ingress protection rating. The emergency function uses a LiFePO4 battery to provide 120lm output in the event of mains failure, operating in either maintained or non-maintained mode. A slave live terminal inside the gear tray allows the fitting to power additional non-sensor bulkheads on the same circuit.
The housing is UV-stabilised white polycarbonate with an opal diffuser that twists to lock into position, providing a 120° beam angle. The hinged gear tray opens for lamp changes and adjustments without removing the entire fitting from the wall. The 300mm diameter and 65mm projection suit BESA boxes and standard UK exterior mounting positions, and the Class II construction means no earth connection is required.
At the 18W setting the fitting delivers 1750lm at 4000K, dropping to 1400lm at 14W and 930lm at 9W (all at 4000K). The SMD LED array is rated for 50,000 hours to L70B50, and the fitting carries a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
How does the photocell sensor work?
The integrated sensor monitors ambient light levels and activates the fitting automatically when daylight falls below a preset threshold, typically at dusk. The fitting switches off again at dawn. This reduces energy use and ensures the bulkhead only operates when needed.
What is the slave live terminal for?
The slave live output inside the gear tray allows this fitting to power additional bulkheads on the same circuit that do not have their own photocell sensors. The sensor-equipped unit controls when all connected fittings switch on and off.
How is the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?
DIP switches inside the hinged gear tray allow you to select between 9W, 14W or 18W output and between 3000K, 4000K or 5700K colour temperature. These settings can be changed after installation without replacing the fitting.
What does IK10 mean?
IK10 is the highest impact resistance rating under IEC 62262, indicating the fitting can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules. This makes it suitable for locations where vandalism or accidental strikes are likely, such as public car parks and building perimeters.
