Description

The Bruma is a ribbed glass dome pendant light built in two layers. Its outer shade is gradient smoked glass, its tone shading gradually across the dome, and inside it sits a ribbed inner shade of recycled material in a soft oyster colour, the ribs twisting gently around its curve. When the light is on, the oyster shade glows behind the smoked glass and the ribs show through it as soft lines. The fitting is 21cm tall and 19cm across, hangs on a 1.5m black cable from an 8cm canopy, and takes one E27 lamp, so you can choose the bulb and colour of light that suits the room.

At 19cm across, it is a compact pendant that works well where a large fitting would crowd the space: over a bedside table in place of a table lamp, in a hallway or on a landing, or hung in a row of two or three above a dining table. Its modern, softly rounded dome suits a contemporary living room and sits just as comfortably in a calmer, natural scheme. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and the 1.5m cable lets it hang low where you want the light close.

We like the thinking behind it: the outer shade is gradient smoked glass, and the inner shade is made of recycled material, so the soft oyster tone comes from a shade with a second life.
