Description

The Brooklyn Round 360° is a slim white ring light, 100cm across, that fits on a ceiling or on a wall. The ring itself has a section of just 3.5cm and sits about 5.8cm out from the surface, so it reads as a clean line of light rather than a bulky fitting. Inside is an integrated LED of 55W giving 2965lm, which means there is no bulb to buy and none to change. The light is a warm 3000K with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look natural under it. The finish is a plain white that sits quietly against a pale ceiling or wall.

At a full metre across, this is a light for a generous room. On the ceiling it gives a living room, dining room or open-plan space a broad ring of light from a single fitting; on a wall it makes a wide circle of light above a sofa, a sideboard or a bed. With 2965lm it has plenty of output for a larger space, and because it dims you can bring it down for a quieter evening. Wide hallways and landings suit it too, where its shallow projection keeps the ceiling feeling clear. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor light.

The ring is finished in white and is held to the ceiling or wall from a round canopy 21.4cm across. It runs on 230V and is wired in to the mains by an electrician, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. It dims by DALI or by push, so before it goes up, decide whether it will join a DALI lighting control system or work from a push switch, and let your electrician know which you want. Because the LED is integrated, there are no bulbs to replace once it is fitted.
