Description

The Brillix is an outdoor LED wall light with an angular die-cast metal body in anthracite grey, housing an integrated 9W LED rated at 4000K (neutral white). The folded-arm design casts light downwards and forwards from a polycarbonate diffuser panel set into the underside of the upper arm, providing directed illumination along walls, paths and doorways without spillage upwards or backwards into adjoining rooms.

Designed for mounting on exterior walls next to entrance doors, garage sides, patio corners and outbuilding walls where illumination is needed after dark. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under eaves and canopies but not for full open-weather mounting without overhead cover. The 164mm projection from the wall gives a substantial presence while keeping the fitting clear of door swings and gate openings.

The die-cast metal body is finished in a textured anthracite grey powder coating that resists fading and corrosion in typical UK weather. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white (2700K) and daylight (5000K), providing clear visibility for security and wayfinding without the yellowish cast of traditional outdoor bulbs or the clinical brightness of cool white LEDs. The integrated LED is factory-fitted and non-replaceable, rated for a typical lifespan of 30,000+ hours under normal outdoor conditions.

What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (level 5) and water splashes from any direction (level 4). It is suitable for covered outdoor positions under eaves, canopies and porches. It is not suitable for full open-weather mounting without overhead protection.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and factory-fitted. The typical lifespan is 30,000+ hours, equivalent to approximately 10 years of typical outdoor use (8 hours per night). When the LED reaches end-of-life, the entire fitting is replaced.

Can it be used with a PIR motion sensor?

The Brillix can be wired downstream of a separate PIR motion sensor or photocell switch if required. It does not include an integrated sensor. The fitting is not dimmable, so it operates at full brightness when powered on.

What colour is 4000K?

4000K is neutral white, sitting between the warm yellowish tone of 2700K-3000K domestic bulbs and the cooler blue-white of 5000K+ daylight LEDs. It provides clear visibility for security and navigation without appearing too clinical or too warm.
