Description
The Brillix is an IP54-rated outdoor wall light with an integrated 9W LED housed in an anthracite metal and polycarbonate body. The L-shaped arm projects 164mm from the wall and directs 3000K warm white light downwards, creating a defined wash across the wall surface below the fitting. The anthracite powder-coated finish gives a charcoal-grey tone that recedes against rendered or brick walls.
Designed for pathways, patios, building facades and entrance porches, the Brillix provides functional task lighting rather than decorative accent. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under eaves or against weather-facing walls. The downward light direction minimises glare when walking past the fitting and focuses output where it's needed — on door handles, steps, or ground-level features.
The metal backplate measures 100mm wide and mounts directly to external walls using two fixings through the rear face. The polycarbonate lens diffuses the LED output to reduce harsh shadows while maintaining a directed beam pattern. The integrated 9W LED cannot be replaced — at end of life the entire fitting is replaced — but typical LED life expectancy is 25,000-30,000 hours, equating to roughly 10 years of use at 8 hours per night.
The anthracite finish pairs well with contemporary grey render, charcoal cladding, and modern brick tones. The minimalist geometric form keeps the focus on the light output rather than the fitting itself, making the Brillix suitable for projects where multiple units are installed at regular intervals along a path or building line without creating visual clutter.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean?
IP54 indicates protection against dust ingress (the '5') and water spray from any direction (the '4'). The Brillix can be fitted in exposed positions under eaves or on weather-facing walls, but is not rated for direct water jets or submersion. It suits typical UK outdoor conditions including rain and coastal moisture.
Can the LED be replaced?
No. The 9W LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. Typical LED life expectancy is 25,000-30,000 hours, which equates to approximately 10 years of use at 8 hours per night. At end of life the entire fitting is replaced.
What direction does the light shine?
The L-shaped arm directs light downwards onto the wall surface below the fitting. This creates a wash of light across the wall and ground immediately beneath, rather than projecting light outwards into the space. The beam pattern is focused for task lighting rather than ambient spread.
How is it wired?
The Brillix requires a mains 230V supply run to the mounting position. The cable feeds into the rear of the backplate before the fitting is secured to the wall with two fixings. External wiring should be done by a qualified electrician and comply with UK Building Regulations Part P for outdoor electrical installations.
