Description
The Brecken is a 2-light pendant featuring two cased opal glass shades suspended from an aged brass central stem with a geometric frame. Each shade measures 370mm in diameter and houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately, 60W max per socket). The opal glass diffuses light evenly downwards and outwards, reducing glare while providing functional task lighting over worktops or dining surfaces.
Designed for kitchen islands and dining tables, the Brecken's adjustable drop ranges from 524mm to 1,439mm, allowing the pendant to be positioned 700-800mm above a surface regardless of ceiling height. The symmetrical twin-shade configuration spreads light across a 1.8-2.4m run, making it suitable for rectangular islands or narrow dining tables where a single pendant would leave the ends under-lit. The aged brass finish on the frame and canopy adds warmth without the high shine of polished brass, pairing comfortably with stainless steel appliances, white worktops and both warm and cool wall colours.
The cased opal glass is a double-layer construction with a white inner layer and a translucent outer layer, giving the shades a solid appearance when unlit and a soft glow when lit. The brass frame uses a vertical rod with horizontal arms extending to each shade, creating a balanced geometric silhouette that works in both contemporary and transitional interiors. The 404mm fitting height means the pendant has a moderate vertical presence when hung at typical island heights.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Brecken takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 8-10W warm white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining use.
What drop height works for a kitchen island?
The pendant is typically hung 700-800mm above the island worktop. For a standard 900mm worktop and 2.4m ceiling, this means setting the drop to around 700-900mm during installation. The adjustable cable allows fine-tuning on site.
How wide an area does it light?
The twin 370mm shades spread light across approximately 1.8-2.4m of linear surface, making the Brecken suitable for islands or dining tables in that length range. Longer islands may need two Brecken pendants spaced along the run.
Is the aged brass lacquered or will it tarnish?
Quoizel aged brass finishes are typically lacquered to prevent tarnishing and maintain the warm antique tone. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth to clean; avoid abrasive or chemical cleaners that may damage the lacquer.
