Description
This Brammoor pendant sets ten smokey mirror glass globes on a slim matt black frame, 1170mm across, with an overall height that adjusts from 574mm to 1024mm. Mirrored glass behaves differently from opal: switched off the globes read as dark reflective spheres, and lit they show the lamp as a contained glow rather than a soft white ball. Ten G9 lampholders each take a 5W LED bulb. The fitting weighs 3.6kg, is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms and is a Class 2 fitting, so no earth is needed at the ceiling.
A wide pendant in dark glass suits a room with something to push against, so we would hang it over a dining table in a room with pale walls, above an island in a kitchen with dark cabinetry, or in a hallway where it can be read against a light ceiling. The smoked finish keeps the light lower and moodier than clear or white glass, which makes it a better fit for evening rooms than for a space you want bright at breakfast. Give it width, height and a clear line of sight beneath.
The frame, ceiling plate and lamp cups are metal in matt black, and the globes are mirrored glass with a smokey grey cast. Mirrored surfaces show dust and fingerprints sooner than plain glass, so wipe them with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away, keeping the metal to a dry soft cloth and sprays away from the matt paint. The frame is slim by design, since a fitting this wide in heavier metal would crowd a ceiling. The Brammoor range also carries opal globes on a gold frame, along with a ring pendant, a linear pendant and a floor lamp.

Frequently Asked
What are the globes made from?
Smokey mirror glass, on a metal frame and lamp cups finished in matt black.
How is mirrored glass different from opal?
It reads as a dark reflective sphere when off and gives a more contained glow when lit, so the overall light is lower and moodier.
How wide is it?
1170mm across the frame, with a height adjustable from 574mm to 1024mm.
Which bulbs does it take?
Ten G9 capsules at 5W each in LED.
How do I keep the glass clean?
A barely damp cloth, dried at once. Mirrored glass shows marks quickly, so avoid sprays and abrasives.
Can it be dimmed?
It is not dimmable, so we would wire it to an ordinary switch.
