Description
A pair of housewife pillowcases, 50 by 70cm, woven from a blend of hemp and organic cotton. The ground is a natural flax colour with a fine espresso stripe running through it, the stripes set close enough that from a few feet away the pair read as a soft warm grey rather than as a stripe at all. The housewife cut finishes flush at the edge, with no flange or border standing out round the pillow.
The stripe runs the length of each pillow. The colour sits between the natural ground and the espresso thread rather than landing on either, so it goes with plain white, with undyed linen and with a darker cover without matching any of them. The set arrives folded in a fabric bag, which will serve afterwards as a garment bag.
The fabric is hemp blended with organic cotton, woven in Portugal. Hemp grows without chemical help and is biodegradable, and the organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides. Two pillowcases come in a set. The Borba range also runs to duvet covers in the same espresso stripe, in double, king and super king.

Frequently Asked
How many pillowcases come in a set?
Two.
What size are they?
50 by 70cm.
What is a housewife pillowcase?
One cut without a flange, so the fabric finishes flush at the edge of the pillow rather than carrying a border round it.
What is the fabric?
Hemp blended with organic cotton, woven in Portugal.
Is there a matching duvet cover?
Yes. The Borba range runs to duvet covers in the same espresso stripe, in double, king and super king.
How do I look after them?
Follow the care label on the pillowcases. The temperature on the label is the highest the fabric will take, and a cooler wash works as well. The fabric softens with every wash, and a gentle fabric softener can be used now and then. Line drying gives the best result, or tumble dry low and take them out promptly.
