Description

The Knightsbridge bollard ground spike is a 400mm stainless steel stake designed to anchor the GLD2 bollard light into soft ground, lawns and garden beds. The spike is 87mm in diameter at the collar and tapers to a pointed base, with a black powder-coated finish over the stainless steel construction. Four fixing bolts at the top secure the bollard housing to the spike once driven into the ground.

Designed for domestic garden lighting installation, the spike removes the need for concrete footings or hard-surface mounting when positioning bollard lights along pathways, driveways and lawn edges. The 400mm length provides sufficient depth to hold the bollard upright in most firm soils and turf, though very soft or sandy ground may require additional stabilisation. The spike features a side cable entry port to route the power cable underground before it enters the bollard housing.

The stainless steel construction resists corrosion from soil contact and waterlogging, while the black powder-coated finish matches the GLD2 bollard housing. The spike is intended for use with the GLD2 bollard model specifically and may not fit other bollard designs due to the diameter and bolt pattern at the collar. Installation requires hammering or driving the spike into the ground using a rubber mallet or similar tool to avoid damaging the coating.

What type of ground is suitable for spike installation?
