Description

The Blink is a compact round wall light: a ribbed glass disc in a warm Honey finish. Its blown-glass face is moulded in concentric rings that step in towards the centre, and those ribs catch the light in soft bands of amber. It is made from iron and blown glass. It measures 13.2cm across and stands 8.2cm out from the wall, so it keeps a low profile in a narrow hallway or beside a bed, where a deeper fitting could catch a shoulder. It takes one GX53 lamp.

Being rated IP20, it is for dry rooms only, and within those it is easy to place. We like it on a bedroom wall either side of the bed, in a pair along a hallway or landing, beside a mirror in a dressing area, or low on a living room wall where you want a small pool of colour rather than a bright light. Its modern lines and warm glass suit a room with natural wood, linen and plaster tones, and it sits as happily against a dark painted wall, where the honey colour reads richer. It is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so it suits a spot where you want the same glow each evening.

Iron and blown glass make up the Blink, and the ribbed glass face carries the Honey colour, its concentric rings giving a small disc real presence on a plain wall. It runs on mains power at 220-240V and is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, we would fit two at the same height to frame a bed or a doorway, or set a short row along a corridor so the amber discs lead the eye. With one lamp each, they work best as a layer of warm colour alongside a ceiling light rather than as the main light in a room.
