Description
The Benno is a 348mm bathroom wall light with a single opal glass globe mounted on a champagne-finish metal arm and circular backplate. The fixture takes a G9 LED bulb (included), which casts soft, diffused light through the opal glass sphere. The champagne finish is a warm metallic tone between brushed brass and antique gold, providing a neutral accent that pairs with cream, beige, taupe and soft grey bathroom schemes.
Designed for bathroom zones 2 and 3, the Benno carries an IP44 rating, meaning it resists moisture and splashing but should not be positioned directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure. The fitting is typically installed either side of a mirror at eye level (approximately 1600-1700mm from floor to centre), as over-mirror lighting in pairs, or as single accent lights flanking bathroom cabinetry. The 166mm projection from the wall keeps the globe clear of most mirror surfaces while avoiding excessive intrusion into circulation space.
The metal arm is slender (approximately 10mm diameter) and the circular backplate measures 128mm across, giving the fitting a compact footprint that suits bathrooms from 4m² upwards. The opal glass globe measures approximately 120mm diameter and can be oriented facing up or down on installation depending on whether upward wash light or downward task light is preferred. The champagne finish is applied over metal rather than plated, so it shows subtle tonal variation under different lighting conditions but resists tarnishing in humid environments better than raw brass.

Frequently Asked
Is the Benno suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 or 3?
The IP44 rating makes the Benno suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (away from direct shower spray and bath edges). It should not be installed in zone 1 (directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure) as the IP rating does not cover full water immersion or persistent heavy spray.
Does it come with a bulb?
Yes. The fitting is supplied with a G9 LED bulb rated at 3W maximum. Replacement G9 bulbs are widely available in warm white (2700-3000K) or cool white (4000K+) depending on the light temperature preferred.
Can the globe be fitted facing up or down?
Yes. The globe can be oriented upwards for ambient wash light onto the ceiling, or downwards for more directed task light onto a countertop or sink. The orientation is set during installation and cannot be adjusted afterwards without removing the fitting.
What height should it be mounted at?
For mirror-side installation, the centre of the fitting is typically positioned 1600-1700mm from the floor, placing the globe at eye level for a standing adult. For over-mirror installation in pairs, the fittings are usually spaced 600-800mm apart horizontally depending on mirror width.
