Description

Baymont pairs a broad, shallow drum of dual faux silk with a polished chrome frame, held close to the ceiling so nothing hangs down into the room. The outer face is a soft nude beige, lined in moonlight so the light picks up a warmer tone inside the shade, and a frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside so the three lamps read as one even wash rather than separate bright points. It takes E27 lamps and will dim with a suitable lamp and dimmer fitted.

At 50cm across this is a large fitting and it wants a room to match: a main bedroom, a generous landing, a square hallway, or a sitting room where a pendant would hang awkwardly low over a walkway. We reach for it where ceiling height is tight but the room still needs a proper piece of lighting rather than something small and plain. We would fit LED GLS A60 lamps of up to 20W each, and because the diffuser spreads the output downwards it does the job of a main light happily, with a table lamp or two for the evening.

The shade is a dual-layer faux silk, so treat it gently: an upholstery brush or a vacuum on low suction lifts dust from the fabric, and the acrylic panel and chrome trim take a barely damp cloth once the power is off and the lamps have gone cold. Avoid sprays and solvents on the silk. It carries a one year warranty.
