Description

Five E27 lampholders sit behind a shallow drum of black faux silk, 40cm across, lined in white laminate, with a frosted acrylic diffuser ringed in polished chrome closing off the underside. The frame is polished chrome, bright against the dark shade. Being a drop flush shape, it keeps tight to the ceiling yet still reads as a proper shade rather than a plain disc, and the diffuser softens the light as it leaves the fitting.

We reach for this one where a pendant would hang too low: hallways and landings, bedrooms, a small dining room, or any main light on a standard ceiling height. It earns its place where the ceiling is low but the light still has to do all the work. The lamps together give a good, even spread across a medium sized room, and each one can be an LED GLS globe of up to 20W. Dimming is possible if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer. Keep it to rooms that stay dry, well away from a shower or a bath.

The shade is faux silk over a black and white laminate, the frame polished chrome plated metal, and the diffuser acrylic, frosted with a polished chrome ring. For cleaning, isolate the supply first, then lift dust from the silk with a soft brush and wipe the acrylic with a barely damp cloth; nothing solvent based goes near either. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range gives you universal drop flush and semi flush fittings in polished chrome, white, satin nickel, antique brass and satin black, plus linear pendants for over a table, so finishes can be matched from room to room. Lamps are not included.
