Description

A wide faux silk drum in black, 50cm across, hangs beneath polished chrome suspension, with a frosted acrylic diffuser closing the underside. The diffuser is trimmed in polished chrome to match, and it takes the glare off three E27 lamps so the light arrives soft rather than direct. Inside, the shade is lined in white laminate, which throws the light down and keeps the black outer face looking crisp. The drop adjusts, so it can hang low over a table or be shortened to sit nearer the ceiling.

It suits a dining table, a kitchen island or the centre of a sitting room: anywhere a broad circle of light is wanted without a bare lamp in view. With adjustment out to 3.3m, it also answers for a stairwell or a room with a tall ceiling. We would fit LED GLS lamps here, and dimming is possible where the lamps and the dimmer are chosen to suit, though no dimmer is supplied. It runs on an ordinary household supply and belongs in dry rooms indoors.

The shade is faux silk over a laminate liner, with acrylic for the diffuser and polished chrome on the parts that show. Dust the fabric with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting, and wipe the diffuser and chrome with a dry cloth once the lamps are cold. It carries a one year warranty, and lamps are not included.
