Description

Balise is a compact cylindrical table lamp built like a little lantern. A band of ribbed blown glass sits between a green iron top and a green iron base. The light glows through that fluted glass screen at its middle, while the solid bands above and below keep it soft and low. It has one GX53 lamp holder and works simply, switching on and off. Balise comes in two sizes. The Small is 16cm tall and 11cm across, on a base 9cm across. The Medium is 19.5cm tall and 13.5cm across, on a base 11cm across.

As a table lamp it suits the places you want a gentle pool of light rather than a bright one: a bedside table, a side table next to an armchair, a desk or a sideboard. The Small fits a narrow bedside or a bookshelf where space is tight. The Medium gives a little more height on a side table or a hall console. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, which makes it a good fit for a living room, bedroom, study or hallway.

The structure is iron in a green finish, and the screen is blown glass with fine vertical ribs that break the light into soft lines. It runs on 220 to 240V mains with a 2m cable, which gives you some freedom in reaching a socket. Because it is switched on and off rather than dimmed, there is no dimmer to match.
