Description

The Auriel is a glass candle LED pendant light: a slim matt black cylinder held inside a clear glass tube, which opens out into a flat glass disc at its foot, all hung from a fine cable. Its upright, narrow form recalls a candle. The pendant is 15.9cm tall and 12cm across, on a cable 500cm long, and its canopy is 17.7cm tall. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 5.5W and gives 400lm, and each fitting is set to either 2700K or 3000K when it is installed: 2700K for a very warm glow, 3000K for a slightly fresher warm white.

We would hang it over a dining table, where its slim body keeps the view across the table clear, or in a living room over a side table or beside a favourite reading chair. At 400lm it gives a pool of warm light rather than lighting a whole room on its own, so use it alongside other lighting in larger rooms. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. We sell it in two versions: non-dimmable, or DALI or push dimmable. The non-dimmable version simply switches on and off; the DALI or push dimmable version works with a compatible DALI control or push switch, so you can lower it for a long dinner.

The body is finished in matt black and sits within clear glass, a pairing that looks crisp against pale walls and quiet against dark ones. It runs on 230V and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The long 500cm cable suits a high ceiling as well as a standard one, and because the colour temperature is set when the fitting is installed, decide between 2700K and 3000K before your electrician arrives.
