Description

A brass planter 21cm across the mouth and 14cm tall, wider than it is high. The body is a deep curve that comes close to a full round at the belly and pulls in to a small foot underneath. The rim is thin and its line wavers where the metal was worked by hand, and a band of hammer marks runs round the lower third of the body. Inside, the brass is darker and carries fine horizontal lines left from the turning.

It holds 3700ml and the base is closed, with no drainage hole, so it suits plants that want only a light watering or spray. At 21cm across the mouth it takes a fern that fills it without spilling over the rim. It is for indoor use.

Brass throughout, with no liner inside. The outside is polished enough to carry a single broad highlight down the curve, while the beaten band round the base stays matt and broken. The Atsu is made in three sizes, holding 1250ml, 3700ml and 9250ml.
