Description

The largest Atsu, 27cm across the mouth and 20cm tall, and the deepest of the three. The wall rises almost straight from a rounded base and turns in only slightly at the top, so it reads as a deep bowl rather than a dish. The rim is a fine plain edge with a small outward turn and no bead on it. The outside is a bright gold carrying one broad highlight down the wall; inside, the brass is darker and more olive, with concentric marks left from the working.

It holds 9250ml. The base is closed and there is no drainage hole, so it suits plants that want only a light watering or spray. At 27cm across the mouth and 20cm deep it takes a plant with a real spread rather than a single stem, standing on a side table. It is for indoor use.

Brass inside and out, with no liner. The outside is worked smooth, so the light runs as a single sheet down the wall and breaks only where the metal pits. The inside is left darker and shows the marks of the working. This is the largest of the three Atsu sizes.
