Description

The Aster is a 384mm diameter globe pendant built from two ribbed glass domes held within a polished nickel frame, housing three E14 bulb fittings inside the sphere. The vertical ribbing on the clear glass diffuses light outward through the dome while still showing the bulbs inside, creating both functional and decorative illumination. The polished nickel bands around the glass provide structural support and a reflective metallic accent against the translucent ribbing.

Designed for kitchens, entrance halls and dining areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Aster works as a single statement piece over a dining table or island, or in multiples over a long counter or bar. The adjustable drop of 789-1703mm allows the pendant to be set at the right height during installation, typically 700-800mm above a dining surface or 1500-1700mm from floor level in an entrance hall. The 60W maximum per socket supports standard LED or halogen E14 candle bulbs (sold separately).

The polished nickel finish on the frame and canopy provides a cool-toned metallic contrast to the warm glow of the bulbs inside, pairing well with both contemporary neutrals and traditional warm wood tones. The ribbed glass softens the light output and reduces glare compared to a clear smooth globe, making the pendant suitable for eye-level viewing when seated. At 384mm diameter the Aster occupies moderate visual space without overwhelming smaller rooms, while the vertical ribbing adds texture and depth when viewed from different angles.

What bulbs does the Aster take?

The pendant takes three E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or hallway lighting.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable during installation between 789mm and 1703mm, but once the pendant is wired and the canopy is fixed to the ceiling, the height cannot be changed without re-installing the fitting.

Is the glass replaceable if damaged?

The ribbed glass domes are separate components held by the metal frame. Contact Kichler or Niori for replacement glass parts if a dome is damaged. The frame and canopy are not sold separately.

Does the polished nickel finish tarnish?

Polished nickel is lacquered during manufacture to resist tarnishing under normal indoor conditions. Avoid touching the polished surfaces during installation and cleaning to prevent fingerprints and oils from degrading the protective finish over time.
