Arti 1 Light Natural Rattan Shade Wall Light - Black

The Arti is a single-light wall fitting with a hand-woven natural rattan conical shade mounted on a matt black adjustable arm and circular backplate. The arm extends 386-482mm from the wall depending on angle adjustment, and both the arm and shade pivot at brass-bushed joints to direct light where needed. The E27 socket inside the rattan shade accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed as bedside reading lighting, hallway accent lighting, or task lighting beside a desk in a home office, the Arti works in contexts where light needs to be directed rather than ambient. The adjustable arm allows the shade to be angled towards a pillow for reading, down onto a console table surface to highlight objects, or out into a corridor to provide wash light along a wall. The 194mm width of the circular backplate gives a defined graphic presence without requiring extensive wall space.

The rattan is woven from natural fibres in a tight basket-weave pattern that diffuses the bulb's direct glare while allowing warm light to pass through the gaps in the weave. Each shade shows slight variation in fibre tone and weave tightness depending on the section of rattan used. The matt black metal frame contrasts with the pale honey tone of the rattan, giving the fitting a clean graphic edge that works in both traditional country interiors and contemporary coastal or Scandinavian schemes. The Hinkley branding is embossed subtly on the metal components rather than shown on a visible badge.

What bulb does the Arti take?

The fitting accepts one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-8W warm-white LED filament bulb at 2700K for bedside reading or a 4-6W LED for accent lighting in hallways.

Can the arm and shade be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Both the arm and the shade pivot on brass-bushed joints, allowing the light to be angled towards a reading position, down onto a surface, or out into a room. The joints hold position under the weight of the shade without needing to be tightened.

Is the rattan shade consistent across all units?

The rattan is a natural woven material, so each shade shows slight variation in fibre tone and weave density. This is a characteristic of the hand-woven construction, not a defect. All shades are the same conical shape and dimension.

How is the rattan cleaned?

Dust the rattan with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the rattan and do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners, which can discolour the natural fibres.
