Description
The Artha is a tall display cabinet in mango wood, 215cm high and 100cm wide. Two full-height doors carry the front, each glazed in three tall panes split by wooden glazing bars. Behind them stand three fixed shelves, which divide the upper cabinet into four open bays, and below those sits a bank of three drawers, each pulled by a cut-out along the top edge rather than by a handle. The whole thing stands on four short square legs.
At 215cm this is a piece to measure a ceiling against before anything else, and it takes 100cm of wall and 54cm of floor. The glazed doors put everything on the shelves on show, which makes the upper cabinet the place for crockery and glass, while the three closed drawers underneath take table linen and the things that are better out of sight. At 117.3kg it takes more than one person to move.
The cabinet is mango wood and glass, and the wood is sealed. Mango trees are grown first for their fruit and harvested over a number of years, and only once they stop bearing are they cut for timber, which lets the farmers replant and gives them a second income. The wood is left in its natural tone, so the grain and the colour run differently across every panel.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
215cm high, 100cm wide and 54cm deep.
What is inside it?
Three fixed shelves behind the glazed doors, making four open bays, and three drawers below them.
How are the doors glazed?
Each door carries three tall panes of glass divided by wooden glazing bars.
How heavy is it?
117.3kg.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Only where the room is well ventilated and the humidity is controlled, or the wood will swell.
How do I look after it?
Wipe surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth, always in the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but take care not to use excess water. Use coasters and mats, mop up spills straight away, and keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which will fade it.
