Description

The Arid A/03 is a slim LED wall light in Textured Olive Grey, made from aluminium and stainless steel. A narrow upright plate, fluted down one side, carries a single slender tube set at an angle across its face, and the light comes from the tip of that tube as a focused, warm pool. The integrated LED draws 2.1W and gives 360 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, so there is no bulb to buy or change. With a CRI of 90, colours and skin tones look natural under it. It stands 20cm tall and projects just 5.5cm from the wall.

We think it belongs beside a bed, where the angled tube sends a pool of light onto a book or a pillow without lighting the whole room, and a pair either side of a headboard looks especially neat. It suits a living room just as well, beside an armchair or a sofa for reading, or along a dining room wall where several together give a soft rhythm of light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The Textured Olive Grey finish is a muted, earthy colour that sits easily with warm woods, linen and stone, and with plain painted walls.

The design is by Nahtrang Studio. The fluted edge of the plate gives a ribbed texture that catches light and shadow, while the smooth tube keeps the outline clean, and the textured finish adds a fine grain to both. It runs on 230V and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. With an integrated LED there is nothing to replace, and at 2.1W it uses very little power, which counts for a light you may leave on through a long evening.
