Description

The Arid A/03 is a compact LED wall light: a slim tube set at an angle across a tall, ribbed rectangular backplate, all in a Textured Grey Blue finish. It is made from aluminium and stainless steel, and stands 20cm tall while projecting just 5.5cm from the wall, so it sits close and neat. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 2.1W and gives 360 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, which means colours, wood and skin tones look natural under it.

We like it in a bedroom, fitted either side of the bed, where 360 lumens gives a soft, warm glow without lighting the whole room. It suits a living room just as well, beside a favourite armchair or on a chimney breast, and a dining room, where a pair either side of a sideboard or a mirror adds a gentle layer of light at eye level. With only 5.5cm of projection it sits comfortably in tighter spots where a deeper fitting would catch a shoulder. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The design is by Nahtrang Studio, who set fine horizontal ribs along one side of the backplate against the smooth, plain line of the tube, giving the wall light a quiet, architectural look. The fitting is made from aluminium and stainless steel and finished in Textured Grey Blue, a matt, finely grained colour that sits well on pale or deep painted walls alike. It runs on 230V mains power and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Because it is fixed in place, it is worth settling the height and position, whether beside a bed or a chair, before your electrician arrives.
