Description

The Arid A/01 is a round aluminium wall light: a ribbed disc 14cm across, standing 9.1cm out from the wall on a short stem. Its integrated LED sends the light back onto the wall behind the disc, so the fitting sits in a soft halo of its own glow rather than shining straight into the room, and as an integrated LED it needs no bulb. It draws 8.4W and has a CRI of 90, so colours, faces and food look true. It comes in two colour temperature versions, 2200-2700K or 3000-4000K, giving 586lm or 882lm depending on the version. The finish is Textured Sand Yellow, a warm yellow that picks out the fine vertical ribs across the face.

We would put it in a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, where a single disc makes a quiet point of colour on a plain wall and a pair works either side of a bed or a sideboard. It is rated IP44 and suits outdoor use as well, so it can light a front door, a porch or a garden wall in the same warm yellow as the rooms inside. The 2200-2700K version gives the warmer, softer light many people like for evenings and bedrooms; the 3000-4000K version is a cleaner white for living spaces and outside. Being dimmable, it can drop to a low glow late at night.

The body is aluminium in the Textured Sand Yellow finish, and the fitting is Class II, so it needs no earth connection. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by an electrician. It is TRIAC dimmable, so it works with a compatible dimmer. The design is by Nahtrang Studio. Before you order, choose the colour temperature version that suits each room, and plan for a compatible dimmer on the circuit if you want to bring the light up and down.
