Description

The Arid A/01 is a round aluminium LED wall light: a disc 14cm across, its face cut with fine vertical fluting, set on a short cylindrical stem so that it projects 9.1cm from the wall. The finish is Textured Pebble Grey, a pale grey with a soft texture that sits quietly on a plain wall. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 8.4W and gives 586 or 882 lumens depending on the version, with a CRI of 90, so colours, wood and skin tones look natural. The light falls back onto the wall around the disc, leaving a soft halo rather than a bright point.

We would fit it in a living room, a dining room or a bedroom: as a pair either side of a bed or a sideboard, or spaced along a long wall for a gentle, even glow. It comes in two colour temperatures: the 2200-2700K version gives a warm, low light for evenings, and the 3000-4000K version a whiter light for reading and everyday tasks. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can set the level to suit the hour. Rated IP44, it suits outdoor walls as well, beside a front door or along a terrace.

The Arid A/01 was designed by Nahtrang Studio, and it is made of aluminium, with the fluted face giving the disc its texture and catching light from the side. It is a Class II fitting that runs at 230V and is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. Choose the colour temperature you want when you order, since the fitting comes in the version you pick, and plan a compatible dimmer at the same time if you would like to turn it down.
