Description

The Arid A/01 is a round aluminium wall light: a disc 14cm across that stands 9.1cm out from the wall on a short cylindrical stem. Its face is finely fluted from top to bottom and finished in Textured Grey Blue, so it reads as a quiet, sculptural shape even when it is switched off. Turned on, the integrated LED sends its light back onto the wall, leaving a soft halo around the disc. The LED draws 8.4W with a CRI of 90, so colours and skin tones look natural, and because it is built in there is never a bulb to buy or change.

We sell it in two colour temperature versions, 2200-2700K or 3000-4000K: the first gives a warm, low glow and the second a crisper white. Depending on the version, it gives 586 or 882 lumens. It is TRIAC dimmable on a compatible dimmer, which makes it a good choice for a bedroom wall either side of the bed, a dining room where you want the light low through dinner, or a living room as gentle background light. Rated IP44, it also suits outdoor use, beside a front door or along a garden wall.

The body is aluminium, and the Textured Grey Blue finish runs over the fluted face and the stem alike, giving a soft, textured surface rather than a shine. The design is by Nahtrang Studio. With so shallow a projection it keeps close to the wall and stays out of the way where people pass. It runs on 230V mains and is for a qualified electrician to wire in, so it is worth settling where each light goes, and which colour temperature you want, before they arrive.
